Truthful Tuesday Post

I hate housework.
I hate housework more than the average Joe.
My parents used to use it for punishment. So... I equate doing the dishes and vacuuming with "I've done something wrong."
Anybody know how to unwire this?

It's almost a whole haiku of truth, but... Yorick keeps effing with the baby swing while Phin is trying to sleep, this makes momma crabby.

  1. Dude. I'm the same way. It does not make for a clean house over here.

I've *heard* that whole "do 15 minutes of housework at a time" plan. I can't even bring myself to do that!

  2. I hate housework too....my parents always used it as punishment. I try to just tidy a bit every day and then I set aside one day a week to really clean...turn up the music...and go room by room. Sometimes just the sense of accomplishment and how it looks when it's done is rewarding. But I really have to kick my own ass to actually do it.

  3. lol I actually enjoy cleaning-- but, just not my apartment. I get really overwhelmed here because ce & I are in such a cramped space everything just kinda.. explodes hahaha

doing it in chunks does help- during those overwhelmed moments. Sometimes (this is very goofy) shawna and I together will set timers for like 20 minutes say.. go.. clean as much as we can, and come back and chat/compare progress etc (we really are quite lame.. haha but it's a motivator LMAO).

anywayz.. I'll come clean your house. I'd much prefer to do that than my own right now lol

  7. I actually don't mind cleaning. What I hate is spending all that time cleaning for everyone else in the house to come right behind me messing it up and then it looks like I never did anything. Grrrrrr.....

  8. I freaking hear you.
For once, I'm at home all day, not sick, and we're just putzing around.

Tough not to equate it with punishment.
And even tougher not to curse the mess-makers following you around, making their mark.

Plus, when I clean, I CLEAN - you know those old meth commercials with them scrubbing with a toothbrush?
    That's me.
The lazy neurotic in me just says why start it if you can't scrub the color out of it?

Thinking about getting a housekeeper to come in once a month . . .

  9. I hate cleaning for the most part. I get on kicks where I just want to clean and clean. I'm on one of those right now, but until my wrist is better I can't. Totally sucks!

  10. I hate housework. I do not understand how it gets so dirty. It must be those children that live with me and the husband. LOL

  11. It's either all or nothing for me in the housework department. Either the house looks like a page out of BH&G (yeah right) or it's totally trashed. I just hope the company comes on the right days. LOL

  12. I don't think anyone LIKES housework... just something we know we have to do to stay sane. The only thing that gets me through it is knowing how good it feels to relax when everything is done.

  13. You could try rewarding yourself every time you clean, give yourself something to look forward to.
